Babasaheb Ambedkar Charity Trust (R.) Harihara was established in 1979 and is an institution established to facilitate Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes.. Babasaheb Ambedkar Charity Trust (R.) had conducted social activities like medical awareness program and to form Self-help Groups in Harihar every year. Beside various cultural programs were conducted under the auspicious of the society.

Babasaheb Ambedkar Centenary Degree College was established in 1992-93 under the course of B.A. and B.Com and it was affiliated to Kuvempu University Now it is one of the reputed colleges run by the SC/ST Management in Harihara(Tq). Under Davangere University, Babasaheb Ambedkar Charity Trusr(R.) have realized the necessity of co-education in Harihara town. Ever since its establishment, the college has seen a steady growth in terms of both quality and quantity of education. The students of this college are known for their good behaviour. The Management of our college comprised of enlightened and philanthropic members devoted to the cause of SC/ST and rural back ground students.

The Director, Collegiate Education and the Principal Secretary of the Higher Education, Government of Karnataka sanctioned Degree College in wide order no. ED 89UDC 91 dated 10-10-1991 in the academic year 1992-93 with the course Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce.
The Degree College is maintained by Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe management
The total strength of our college at the time of beginning was 34 and now the strength has been increasing up to 178 in
    the academic year 2014-15.
The Principal Secretary of Higher Education, the Government of Karnataka sanctioned salary grants for 08 Teaching
     Staff and 12 Non Teaching Staff in wide order No.ED188 UPC 2010 Bangalore dated 11-11-2011.
In the beginning college was started at Babasaheb Ambedkar High School building in Harihara(tq.) Now it has an own
   college premises and the college new building is under construction process and at J.C.Extension, 4th main in
    Harihara with dedicative teaching staff.
Our college is running since 1992-93 consisting more than 50% SC/ST and OBC Students.
